Very Fun Weekend!

We had the best Memorial Day weekend ever! Saturday afternoon and evening I went to my cousin Matt's graduation from Law school.

While the actual graduation was long and a little boring the after party was tons of fun! I didn't get any pictures because all I did was sit on the outdoor porch and enjoy visiting and the peace and quiet (Cam was home with the boys). But I had a great time visint with family I don't see all the time and friends that I haven't seen in a LONG time :)

When I got home Saturday evening I was surpried to find that Cam's dad Mike and our 2 nieces, Brook and Morgan came into town. So Sunday we headed over to my parent's house for a BBQ. Brook is 7 and Morgan is 5 and lets just say the boys had a blast playing with them! My parents had bought a barbie jeep in a garage sale for $5 and the kids loved it however none of them wanted to drive it. So my mom got stuck driving them around :)

A day to myself!

I am so excited about this afternoon! My cousin Matt is graduating for the University of Texas Law school this afternoon and I am going with no kids and no husband! Cameron is staying home with the boys so that I can actually go and enjoy visiting with family. All my family is coming into town and after the actual graduation there is a little party at my uncle's house. I am going to brag a little on my cousin...while attending college at UT for his bachelor's he went to Mexico and taught underpriviledge children english. Then he came back, graduated and decided to give law school a try. He is graduating 9th in the class of hundreds!!! And he has already gotten a job working for the Attonery General of TX! I am so proud of him and so thankful that my boys have such a great guy to look up to. There are so many strong men in my family and my boys have no idea how lucky they are!
So anyway, I got up this morning (barely...too much wine last night) and headed to Target where I bought a new shirt and earrings. So I am off to get all dressed up because I want to and never get to and then I am off to and afteroon/evening kid free!

A few new projects

I've decided to take on a few new projects to keep me busy this summer and possibly the rest of the year. I am painting our living room, dining room, all the hallways and our bedroom. I also really want to get some new bedding for our bedroom. I have always wanted something simple...white, tan, brown maybe even a light blue. No designs, just something plain. I am also working on the upstairs. Since most of you out there have never been to my house I will describe...we have an upstairs with 1 bedroom, a small living space and full size bathroom. We never go upstairs and this space for the past 3 years has practically been unlived in. Cameron had an office up there for a couple of months last year but has since moved. I am trying to transform the bedroom into a guest room/office and the living space into a playroom for the boys. Right now most of their toys they play with on a regular basis are in their rooms but I needed something to do with their bigger toys (a tent) and all of their old toys that I can't bear to give away considering 1 day we will have other children to play with them. Oh and I am going to sand and stain a dresser for Asher's room. So there it is, my plan for the next couple of months. Now off to get some paint samples...

Rain Rain...don't go away?!

So our family woke up this morning with the plans to go out and work in the yard today. We were not out there 15 minutes when black clouds loomed above and we realized what was going to happen...a huge storm was rolling in! So I gathered the boys and we went inside. Cameron had other plans. He took the boys out to the front yard to play in the rain! They were so cute and loved it!

While they were playing I snapped a few cute pics and then headed inside where I proceeded to organize my pictures. As I was going through them, putting them in albums and figuring out how many more albums I needed I discovered that I took 200 pictures on our beach trip last year! Can you say crazy?! And once again I am behind on scrapping...way behind. Oh well at least it gives me something to do in the upcoming weeks :)

Lots of Updates :)

So here we go...
Mother's Day was wonderful! Cameron and the boys spoiled me all day! I literally did nothing and it was heavenly. Cameron got me all the books from the Twilight series and have not put them down since :) I am a new fan!

Then on Monday Asher was refusing to take a nap so I brought him in my room and he was being the sweetest little thing EVER! I just had to take some pics of his sweet little face :)

On Wednesday we watched my niece Alexi for a few hours while her mommy went to work. She fell asleep while I was holding her so I laid her on the couch. Look at the precious little face!

Then last but not least Thursday was my 29th birthday. I was woke up to my boys...both of which were in awful moods. Not a great way to start off the day but typical for a mommy. Cameron had to go to work for awhile so me and the boys hung out and played. My mom made dinner for everyone and it ended up being a great day :)

We are hosting a Mother's Day BBQ and Cameron and my Dad are doing all the work. Cameron always does a great job of letting me relax on Mother's Day so I am really looking forward to it!

My Asher Man...the Past 2 Years

I still remember the day I found out I was pregnant with Ash. It was September 1, 2006. Aiden was 7 months old that day and we spent the morning shopping and then Cameron was doing yard work that afternoon. I had secretly bought a test because I didn't want Cameron to overreact if it was nothing. Oh but it was something...a big something! When I told Cam he was surprisingly excited! I thought for sure he would freak out...that didn't come till later :).

My pregnancy with Ash was really hard at the beginning...I was super sick. But around 3 months I started feeling better and from then on it was a piece of cake!

The day Asher decided to arrive was a Saturday, 2 days before my scheduled induction. I remember waking up around 5:30 to a really strong contraction. I knew right away that this would be the day. Cameron went to his office to get some things done that morning and told me to call him when I wanted him to come home. So me and Aiden hung out around the house, still contracting but nothing too bad. Then I figured about noon that maybe we should go in. My mom came to watch Aiden and off we went only to be sent home! They said I was not in labor...yeah still mad about that one :). So back home we came. Around 7pm I could no longer take the pain and off to the hospital we went for the second time. This time I was not coming home! Asher was born later that evening at 11:15pm.

When we came home with Asher things were great! Being home with the boys wasn't as hard as I had imagined. We got on a pretty good routine and well, life was good!

Around 6 months life started getting harder. Asher was on the move and Aiden was not
too excited about that! From 6 months to his first birthday was the hardest time I have ever had...but of course all worth it.

His first birthday came and went and before we knew it our little baby was turning into a toddler. He was all over the house walking, then running and talking...it was great! Him and Aiden were becoming great friends and once again things were easy :).

Around the time he was 1 1/2 his little attitude kicked in full speed! He was so defiant and would listen to anything me or his dad said. Talk about frustrating! I like to say that Ash went through his terrible 2's when he was 1! I am still praying for that to be true :)

Now Ash is going through another sweet stage! LOL! His favorite thing to do is run up to me with his blanket and say "cuddle, couch!" We run to the couch and hold each other so tight! Moments like these I will miss one day when he is too cool for his mommy. Mommy, something I never thought Asher would call me but now love to hear! He use to say momma or ma but then one day it was mommy. Ahh...melts my heart everytime :)

There was a time that I thought I could never do it...I could never be a good mom to 2 kids so close in age. Looking back I am proud to say that I am doing it and we have all survived! LOL! I love my boys and I love my family just the way it is right now! I love you Asher...just the way you are :)

Yesterday we celebrated Asher's 2nd birthday with a big party at his favorite park. It was Yo Gabba Gabba theme...his favorite cartoon. Overall it was a big success! We had good food, good friends and family and tons of fun!
