The Perfect Christmas Card

I love Christmas and Christmas cards! I love scrolling through all the designs on Shutterfly months before Christmas actually starts. This year I was planning on doing a regular 4x6 flat photo card…that is until something magical happened. While I was pulling out my Halloween decorations I found my box of Christmas cards from last year that we received. In the pile of cards I found the most beautiful folded card from Shutterfly. It had a picture on the outside and a few on the inside flap. It was gorgeous! I sat down and while looking at it decided that I wanted to have that card that literally stopped someone in their tracks a year later. I went to the computer to check out the folded cards on Shutterfly and found the one called Holly Frame. I wanted it to be the card that represented our family to everyone. Some of the family and friends I send my Christmas card to, well this might be the only picture they see of us all year and I wanted it to be special. I have the precious family, now I just needed the perfect card. Because I'm a little crazy...

...I had my lovely sister come over yesterday after church and take our Christmas card picture...then because I am super crazy I edited it and dashed to Shutterfly to make a mock Christmas card and well just play around a little while the boys napped on our lazy Sunday afternoon...and then because I am well just plan nuts, I ordered them! Yup, it's October, I haven't even ordered my Halloween cards and I will have my Christmas cards in my hands in the next week. Like I said in my title, because I'm a little crazy...  

Lots of going-ons!

We have been CRAZY busy around our little casa this last week.

**The boys and I put up all our fall/halloween decorations inside and outside. I am soooo in love with this time of year :)
**Cameron moved offices because his office flooded with tropical storm Hermine and his leasing agent let him out of his contract. So he filled my garage up with tons of office furniture which I am currently trying to sell on Craigslist.
**I am also in the process of trying to sell our crib and changing table for a little extra cash for the holidays. I really like our crib but my style has changed since we bought it for Aiden and this next time around (whenever we actually decide when that will be) I would rather have a different style of set. Something simple and IKEAish.
**I spent a better portion of last week getting the things Aiden will need for his preschool this month. He is having picture day (new shirt), Orange and black day (another new shirt...thanks esty!) and a Noah Ark's themed Halloween party and parade. So we had to find him an animal costume since I am pretty sure Buzz Lightyear was not on the ark ;)
**We spend 3 evenings a week out of the house. Mon I am in a bowling league with my dad, brother and sister, Tues Cam has softball and Wed the boys have a religion class at church. Hello...talk about uber busy!
**Plus on top of all that crazy me has decided to refinish a desk for a craft room, and redesign my hallway and breakfast area.

So there are all my reasons I have not posted pics from our super duper fun weekend in Arlington, or of Aiden's soccer games, or of my bowling league, or...well you get the picture :)

Hopefully more fun posts will come later this week...

Cameron went to play poker with our brother in law Anthony tonight and honestly I was kind of glad. It's been so long since I have had an evening all to my own...I'm talking no one! At first I really had no idea what I was going to do, that is until I sat at the TV and remembered Twilight was on my DVR. Aww...is all I can say. For some reason after watching that movie I can't seem to stop smiling ;) Hehe! So now I am off to bed to enjoy a nice long nights sleep after a very long, busy, fun day.

Spring Cleaning!

It's that time of year again! I have been crazy spring cleaning for the last 2 weeks just in time for spring! Yay! I have cleaned out and reorganized all the cabinets in our house (including kitchen), cleaned out all closets, under all beds, cleaned all the baseboards, windows and well pretty much anything else that can be cleaned. Our house feels so organzied which brings a huge smile to my perfectionist, type A husband ;) I bought this book a couple of years ago and have recently started using it.

It's so great, especially for someone who isn't the most organized or feels overwhelmed that they couldn't get it done.

Now that I have a clean house it's time to start "spring cleaning" in the scrapbook department. I am over a year behind on both boys scrapbooks. Ahhh!!!!! I keep putting it off bascially because I feel so overwhelmed with all the work I have ahead of me. This week I plan to get back on track. My goal is to do 5 pages for each boys. That shouldn't take too long and I know once I get going it won't be hard to finish.  I mean if you got to look at these precious pictures won't that motivate you :)

Weekend Off!!!!

So finally Cameron and I are getting a weekend alone! It was suppose to be last weekend but Ash was sick and I thought we were going to cancel this weekend because 2 days ago Cam had strep throat but all is good now. Cameron is working this morning at a vendor's fair so once the kids are up and moving I am packing them up and sending them off to my parent's house for the weekend! They are just as excited as we are :) We were going to go out to eat and see a movie but honestly part of me just wants to lay around and do nothing! Exciting, I know ;) We'll see...either way I don't care. I am just looking to some uninterrupted time with the hubster.
On another note, I am not sure if other moms out there do this but lately I have been finding that I rarely buy something for myself. I have been busy buying Aiden new clothes for spring/summer and bought all the stuff to redo their room leaving me with not a whole lotta. So this week I decided to FINALLY get myself something new.

I am crazy in love with purses. I seriously own way too many but I love them anyhow. A new purse makes me feel so good. Silly I know, but what can I say. So I have been really wanting a cute bag I can throw across me and won't get in the way when I am lugging the boys around. I bought a kind of plain jane one at Target a few months ago but wasn't super happy with it. I loved the style just not the plain black color of it. Then while browsing online yesterday I found this one at Vera Bradley for only $27! It looks perfect for spring and it super duper cute! I am usually not a pink person but for some reason it really stood out to me. So now I just have to wait as my purse comes in the mail in a beautiful Vera box as all their purses do. Sigh...I am so excited :)

American Idol...really?

I am a HUGE AI fan! With that said I was a little bummed out when I heard they were covering Rolling Stones songs. Those are some of the greatest songs ever and honestly I thought there was no way that any of the contestants could hold their own. Well, in my opinion I was partially right. The only people I thought were good last night were Lee Dewyze, Siobhan Magnum and Crystal Bowersox (my fav). The rest I could have honestly done without. Oh and I am really praying that Lacey whatever her names is goes home. She is AWFUL!!!!

Maybe next week will be better :)

I have been looking at this all week on my fridge and everytime I see it makes me laugh. Cameron said yesterday morning that he was going to be late and might just grab a sandwich! LOL! Lucky him I ended up making mexican food.

Non Stop!

That's how I've been running today and it doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. This week we have 3 playdates, dinner with friends, lunch with my mother in law, my brother's baseball game, painting the boy's new room, and visiting one of my best friend's and her sweet new little baby boy! I'm tired from just reading it all back! I am most excited about seeing Mandy and Gage. She texted (is that word?) me today that she was on her way to her mom's house who just happens to live very close to me. I am beyond excited!!! Her sweet baby Gage is only a month old and I am just dying to hold him.
I am also really excited about painting the boy's new room. We have a bedroom upstairs next to the playroom that I have wanted to make their room for so long. Hopefully by this weekend we can go and buy the furniture and put it all together! Yay! I love changes in the house...so exciting :)
Oh and I forgot to add on top of all that we are suppose to get snow in the morning! I am really hoping if we do, it only stays around for a short while so I can head off to our first playdate of the week and then to see Mandy after that. For the playdate tomorrow I am making a super yummy homemade coffee cake that I will post the recipe for tomorrow.

Dear John

Last night I finished it and it was so good. I was shocked at how much I liked it considering I am not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. Now I really want to go and see the movie :)
I also finished about a week ago The Time Traveler's Wife.

That book was crazy strange but I really loved it. The movie, however leaving me wanting more. I was so disappointed. It was so different from the book and they didn't even tell the whole story. I am hoping that the Dear John movie is not like that. I have heard really great reviews about it but are those reviews from people that read the book?
So now I need a new book to read. Any suggestions?

I love the Olympics!

Yes I do :) The summer Olympics are my favorite but the winter ones have a special meaning to me. Aiden was born weeks before the 2006 Olympics. I remember so well those sleepless nights I would lay in the living room with him while watching the Olympics on TV. This year I have been a devout watcher. I have stayed up till almost midnight every night this week catching up on them while everyone else in the house is asleep. My favorite part so far was the men's snowboarding and Shaun White winning the gold.


I also loved watching Lindsey Vonn do her thing.


I cannot wait for Apollo Ono to do a little more racing this weekend.


And my favorite event is the women's figure skating...oh so exciting! I remember watching this event with my mom for as far back as I can remember. We loved figure skating :)

I hope once my boys get older and stay up later we can watch them together and I can pass down my love for the Olympics like my mom did to me.

A very sweet friend of mine gave me this award! Thank you Lindsay!! Lindsay's blog is Logan Laughs and is so much fun to read. Her sweet little boy Logan is adorable and I love seeing new pictures of him.

By getting this award, I'm supposed to share 7 things about myself, and share the award with 7 of my Beautiful Blogger friends. So, here's my list of things you may or may not already know about me!

1. I love being Stay at home mom/housewife! I really know this is where I am meant to be in my life. I love cleaning, cooking, keeping my family schedule's in check, spending all my time with the boys, ironing...all housewife things. I take alot of pride in my job as a housewife and hope one day when my children are grown they will respect me for my decision to stay home and devote my life to them.

2. My guilty pleasure is soap operas! LOL! I love watching the Young and the Restless. I have been watching this show since I was in grade school. My mom and I would watch it over the summer together and whenever I was sick from school we would curl up on the couch and watch it. I don't know if it's the actual show I like or the fact that it's something special between my mom and I. We still call each other everyday and talk about what's going on. Cameron always laughs at us and when I'm talking to her about he asks "are you talking about real people or soap opera people!" LOL!

3. I love reading! I have always had a love for reading and after the boys were born put it on the back burner for awhile. Lately though I have gotten back into it and love it! I just got done reading The Time Traveler's Wife and just started Dear John.

4. I am a coffee addict! Every morning I have to have at least 2 to 3 cups of coffee before I can function. Mmmm!

5. I am constantly rearranging furniture or redecorating my house! I wish that I could be that person that always keeps things the same but that's just not me! I am ALWAYS changing things. My mom was the same way so I think I got it from her. It keeps Cam on his toes though. He hates when I call him at work and say "I have a surprise for you when you get home..." LOL!

6. I have vowed not to cut my hair for 2 years! I made that vow last June and am holding strong! I want to see how long my hair can get so I have been taking vitamins, straightening it only when we are going somewhere and trying to keep it as healthy as I can.

7. I'm pretty simple :) I am probably one of the most "un" fancy people you will ever meet. My fav store is Target...I get all my clothes there, accessories, almost all my kids clothes, all the stuff for my house...pretty much everything! I always shop on sale racks. Why buy something whole price when it will eventually be on sale! We don't eat out and when we do it's usually at a drop in and eat type of place. No sit down restaurants for this family :) I don't need fancy expensive things to make me happy. All I need is my family and friends.

Great free photo editing program!

The photographer who took our pictures told me about it. It's called gimp. If you google gimp photo editing program a bunch of sites will come up that you can download it from. I did yesterday and it's great! I have alot to learn on it but it's alot like photoshop but it's free! Just wanted to pass along the info!
