A Hunting We Will Go!

Last week we headed out to my grandparents tree farm up in East Texas for 4 days of hunting and outdoor fun! Cameron, my dad and brother were the hunters while me, the boys and my grandparents hung out and had some campfire fun.
They loved the swing in GG's and Big Grandpa's backyard

Riding the 4 wheelers was a big hit! They rode 3 different times with 3 different drivers! Here is Asher with his Uncle Elliot

The campfire! This was the part these boys were waiting for since we left our house. They loved roasting anything they could get their hands on!

Love these 2 pictures. Man this guy is cute :)
I love this picture because it shows a little of how beautiful my grandparent's land it. They have 100 acres with a pond and tons of gorgeous pine trees! I have been going out here since I was a baby and bringing my kids now is such a neat feeling. I love the they are now running down the same trails I was once did, letting their imaginations run wild. The whole time we were out they you couldn't take their little smiles off their faces. They were happy, content...I still get that feeling when we are out there. It's just so peaceful :)

"No problems man, only situations!"

That's the motto of Jamaica...along with "what happens in Jamaica never happens!" LOL! The funny thing is the native people constantly remind you of these 2 things. So here is my post on our trip. I will start off by saying I have been looking forward to this trip for months!!!! And as things usually are, it was nothing as I had imagined ;)

So here we go...

We arrived in Montego Bay, Jamaica around 2:00pm eastern time last Monday. The weather was gorgeous, warm and sunny. We were soooo excited to be there and hoped on our bus with the group and started the hour and a half drive to the resort. Once we got there we checked out our room and our pool!

We never got to use the pool

Then we got dressed and went to meet up with some friends before the welcome dinner.

I love this pic even though it's not the best quality :)

After dinner we were entertained by some interesting people with interesting tricks.

Then we met some new friends from Canada. Funny thing was almost every single person we met was from Canada. We had a blast with them (seriously I cannot remember a single name)

We stayed up VERY late and had a few too many drinks but this was by far the best time we had the whole trip! It's always so much fun to meet new people :)

There are no pictures from Tuesday because I spent almost the entire day in the room recouping from the night before. Tuesday is also when the rain started and it didn't stop until we were leaving. Literally a black cloud was looming over our paradise vacation :( Tuesday, however, was also the day we met our friends Devon and Devron. They were 2 locals that made the trip as fun as it was. They were beyond hilarious and we spent the end of the day Tuesday laughing harder then any of us had ever laughed before!

Wednesday we woke up to more rain and this time Cameron was suffering from his partying the night before. But since we were with a group we had to go on a catamaran boat trip all afternoon. BAD IDEA! It was freezing cold and Cam was sick but at least we can say we have been out to sea with massive waves tossing our boat around while a Jamaican man and Jamaican woman booty danced for our entertainment. Quite interesting ;)

View of Montego Bay

Thursday was much better! Cam and I both hit the sack early Wednesday so we woke up Thursday ready to go...but it was still raining. So a bunch of us got together and decided to go into Ocho Rios and zip line and bobsled. It was sooo much fun and we did have moments of sunshine.

We had a funny camera man ;)

I saw this tree and was amazed! It's crazy but some of the trees roots grow upwards instead of down.

Just some pics of us :)

Going up the ski lift to the bobsled and zip line. The views were amazing!

Friends

The bob sled was like a roller coaster in the jungle. It was so much fun!

Self portrait

After the bobsled we headed to lunch at a restaurant at the top of this hill. The views of Ocho Rios was so beautiful.

Then it was off to zip lining which was way more hilarious then I had even imagined. The guys were cracking up about what they looked like in their harnasses! LOL!

We had a blast!

Cam showing off ;)

After all this fun we headed back to the resort to hang out and enjoy one of the last evenings we had left.

Friday was really low key. It was...imagine this...still raining! Friday evening however we did have the awards dinner that night. We cleaned up pretty nice.

Here is the best part...

This is what it looked like when we woke up to leave Saturday morning...

We were so bummed, as you can tell from the picture of us trying to smile! Ha!

So here are the pictures of our resort that we took as we were leaving.

We did have a little bit of luck on this trip...as we were waiting for the bus to pick us up we stopped by the game room and Cam put $10 in a poker slot machine. He ended up winning $100!!!! We were stoked ;p

So there is our trip in a nut shell. Good bye Jamaica. Besides all the bad weather we did have a good time. We met people that I will forever remember and think about almost everyday. They taught me how grateful I should be for the life I have been given and how lucky I am to live in the country I do no matter what it might feel like at times.

We are home!

We finally made it home around 8:30 pm Saturday evening. My parents and the boys came to pick us up at the airport and the second Aiden saw me he started crying. It melted my heart :) Don't get me wrong he had a great time with my parents while we were gone but I guess he missed his momma more then he knew :) Cameron and I had a great time on the trip except for the fact that rained every single day. I am talking heavy, nonstop pouring down rain! We didn't get in the pool or hit the beach a single time but we did find other ways to enjoy our time. We hung out with new friends (all mostly from Canada, not sure why), met some locals and laughed harder then I ever have (funniest people I have ever met), bellied up at the bar and paid for it later (not as young as we use to be), ate and ate and ate, and finally headed into town and went bobsleding and zip lining. I have tons of pics and hopefully can get them on my computer today to share with everyone. Check back later or tomorrow. Oh I am soooooo happy to be home :)

East Texas Hunting Trip

Last Thursday we headed to my grandparents house in east TX. They own some land out there that my dad and Cameron like to go hunting on opening day. We had such a great trip and I got tons of great photos.

My dad and his grandkids!

If you fall while running just strike a pose! LOL!

These were different leaves and trees on the farm that I thought were beautiful!

On our way home we stopped at Cameron's dads house and stayed a few hours. The boys were so excited to see their Papaw.

I love going out of town but we have been going non stop for the past couple of months. I have to say that I am ready to be at home for awhile :)
