Aiden's Birthday Party!

Saturday we had Aiden's Lazytown Sports Birthday party! We had a great time with lots of friends and family. Aiden kept telling me over and over "thank you mommy for the best party ever."

Since Sportacus is all about exercise, Aiden led his friends in an exercise class. Only Lilly and Asher participated :)

they are such great friends and always play so well together. I just wished we lived closer so we could see them more.

It was a great party and Aiden got alot of really great gifts. Thanks to everyone that came and made his day very special for him.

Recipe of the Week!

Here is a lunch my kids have started to love! It's super yummy and easy.

Tater Tuna Melt
1 can (6oz) lemon-flavored tuna in water, drained
3 Tbs. reduced fat mayo (I actually used sour cream b/c we are not mayo eaters)
1 Tbs. sweet pickle relish
1/3 cup finely diced celery
1/8 tsp salt
6 small russet potatoes, baked and cooled
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In a bowl mix together tuna, mayo, pickle relish, celery and salt. Scoop out potatoes and fill with tuna salad. Top with shredded cheese. Microwave to heat and melt cheese about 30 seconds.

*When I scooped out the potatoes I took the potato scoopings and mixed them with the tuna and then put it back in the potatoes. That way the kids can't really see the tuna ;)

Scentsy Baby!

A couple of weeks ago I hosted a Scentsy party for my mom's group at my house. It was a total success! For anyone that doesn't know about Scentsy it's a wickless candle that is perfectly safe around children. My sister Emily started selling around Christmas and has been begging me to host a party. Now I am not one that likes to ask people to buy anything but she swore it would be successful. Well it exceeded any expectations I had. So many friends of mine were interested in these products but didn't know how to get them. We sold tons of candles, and the best part, because we sold tons I got tons of stuff for hardly no cost to me :) Here is what I got...

I got this one for my mother in law for her bday.


This is for the boy's room. Their new room is going to be sports. This one is soooo cute in person.


This one is in my bedroom. We are using a french lavendar scent in it and oh it smells so good :)


This one is in our entry way. Everytime someone walks in our house they immediately comment on how good the house smells and how pretty it is.

Food Inc.

Last night Cam and I had a little date night in our living room watching this movie. While it was amazingly interesting it was not quite date night material! LOL! I really recommend everyone to watch it even though, I won't lie, its not easy to watch. It's a documentary that talks about the food industry and the role that the government and big corporations play. Disturbing is probably the best word to describe it. The thing that bothered me the most was how chickens are handled and raised. I will never look at a Tyson chicken nugget the same again...wait I will never buy Tyson chicken nuggets again ;)

Totally Stumped!

I am having the hardest time putting together Aiden's birthday party this year. Maybe it's because he is finally old enough to know if it's fun or not! LOL! He wanted a Lazytown birthday which I thought was going to be pretty easy. Ummm...not so much. Everything that has to do with Lazytown is about exercise and sports. That's great and all but our house is definetly not big enough to have a freakin soccer game going on in the living room. Plus the weather is really getting me. Every single year since the day he was born it has been warm on his birthday. I know that's crazy considering it's February but I guess we just got lucky. This year it's suppose to be cold and rainy. I am praying that by some miracle the weather men are wrong and we get a beautiful day so all the kids can just go outside and play :) So wish me luck as I sit here and try to plan everything out a week exactly before the big day!

Oh and I had to add the good news is the food is going to be SUPER yummy ;)

It's a PJ kind of week!

This week we have spent every.single.day in our pj's! However the reasoning is not so great. Cameron got sick last Friday with a stomach flu and then gave it me...I got sick Monday. This was seriously the worst sickness I think I have ever had. I was lucky though that Cam took for work Monday and Tuesday to take care of the boys so I could sleep and get better. By Wednesday I still felt bad but the worst had past and Cam headed back to work. By Thursday things were looking up but there was no way I was getting dressed to go anywhere. But I did do a massive cleaning on the house. I rearranged furniture, cleaned out closets and cabinets and drawers. Disinfected everything in sight and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather so I opened all the windows to let some fresh air in. I am in absolute shock that they boys didn't get sick! That in itself is a blessing :) So today I figured why not make a record out of it and stay in our jammies for fun!

On another note Aiden's birthday party is in a week and I still have tons to do for it! Aww!!!!! I have the menu planned but as for games and activities I am at a loss. Hopefully I can come up with something fun to fill the hour and half his friends and family will be here ;)

That's the motto of Jamaica...along with "what happens in Jamaica never happens!" LOL! The funny thing is the native people constantly remind you of these 2 things. So here is my post on our trip. I will start off by saying I have been looking forward to this trip for months!!!! And as things usually are, it was nothing as I had imagined ;)

So here we go...

We arrived in Montego Bay, Jamaica around 2:00pm eastern time last Monday. The weather was gorgeous, warm and sunny. We were soooo excited to be there and hoped on our bus with the group and started the hour and a half drive to the resort. Once we got there we checked out our room and our pool!

Then we got dressed and went to meet up with some friends before the welcome dinner.

After dinner we were entertained by some interesting people with interesting tricks.

Then we met some new friends from Canada. Funny thing was almost every single person we met was from Canada. We had a blast with them (seriously I cannot remember a single name)

We stayed up VERY late and had a few too many drinks but this was by far the best time we had the whole trip! It's always so much fun to meet new people :)

There are no pictures from Tuesday because I spent almost the entire day in the room recouping from the night before. Tuesday is also when the rain started and it didn't stop until we were leaving. Literally a black cloud was looming over our paradise vacation :( Tuesday, however, was also the day we met our friends Devon and Devron. They were 2 locals that made the trip as fun as it was. They were beyond hilarious and we spent the end of the day Tuesday laughing harder then any of us had ever laughed before!

Wednesday we woke up to more rain and this time Cameron was suffering from his partying the night before. But since we were with a group we had to go on a catamaran boat trip all afternoon. BAD IDEA! It was freezing cold and Cam was sick but at least we can say we have been out to sea with massive waves tossing our boat around while a Jamaican man and Jamaican woman booty danced for our entertainment. Quite interesting ;)

Thursday was much better! Cam and I both hit the sack early Wednesday so we woke up Thursday ready to go...but it was still raining. So a bunch of us got together and decided to go into Ocho Rios and zip line and bobsled. It was sooo much fun and we did have moments of sunshine.

I saw this tree and was amazed! It's crazy but some of the trees roots grow upwards instead of down.

After the bobsled we headed to lunch at a restaurant at the top of this hill. The views of Ocho Rios was so beautiful.



Then it was off to zip lining which was way more hilarious then I had even imagined. The guys were cracking up about what they looked like in their harnasses! LOL!

After all this fun we headed back to the resort to hang out and enjoy one of the last evenings we had left.

Friday was really low key. It was...imagine this...still raining! Friday evening however we did have the awards dinner that night. We cleaned up pretty nice.

We did have a little bit of luck on this trip...as we were waiting for the bus to pick us up we stopped by the game room and Cam put $10 in a poker slot machine. He ended up winning $100!!!! We were stoked ;p

So there is our trip in a nut shell. Good bye Jamaica. Besides all the bad weather we did have a good time. We met people that I will forever remember and think about almost everyday. They taught me how grateful I should be for the life I have been given and how lucky I am to live in the country I do no matter what it might feel like at times.
