Falling in love...

all over again with my little Asher man. As his birthday is soon approaching I find myself going gaga over every little look he gives me or every little cute thing he does. I have noticed (especially this year) that when my boys birthday come around I start getting all mushy inside. I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 in a week! Where has the time gone? I can still perfectly remember the day I found out I was pregnant with him; then of course the day he was born; his first steps; first birthday; all of those memories are still so fresh in my mind. I am really loving the age the boys are at right now and I wish time would stand still. The thought of them growing up saddens me a little. They are just so precious and I hope I never forget what it feels like to have their little arms around my neck or their wet kisses. I hope their sweet smiles stay in my mind forever.

Yo Gabba Gabba!!!!!

Asher's party stuff has arrived and the countdown to the big Yo Gabba Gabba party has begun!!!

For anyone who doesn't know what Yo Gabba Gabba is, it's a very silly cartoon on Nick Jr. Asher absolutely loves it! He freaks out everyday at 3:30 pm when it comes on.

Anyways...a little under 2 weeks to go until my little man turns 2! His party is on May 2 but his actual birthday is May 5, Cinco de Mayo! My dad jokes every year that we need to have tacos and corona at his party and a donkey pinata! LOL! I made a list of everything I have to do yesterday and well it's pretty long! I am making the cake and cupcakes.

I am really hoping that it's not as hard as it looks. The directions seem pretty easy but who knows. I do know that Asher is so excited he freaks out everytime he sees a picture of the cake and cupcakes so it will be worth it! I just hope it looks like DJ Lance Rock :)
Then I am making all the goodie bags and things in them...well for the most part. Nickjr.com has been a great website to use to plan a party.

Now all we can do is pray for good weather. His party is at a really great park in Georgetown and I would hate to not be able to have it there.

My new favorite weekday is...

Thursday!!! I officially love Thursdays!!! The boys and I wake up in the morning and head over to our local grocery store to beat the rush. I usually stop by our favorite coffee shop and grab a coffee and the boys some type of yummy icey beverage. Then off we go to shop! I actually really enjoy grocery shopping. I love planning my meals, making a list and then off I go. Our store has these really cool double seat baskets that are in the shape of a car (kind of like Home Depot) and needless to say the boys love riding in them. We always make a stop by the bakery to check out all the yummy cakes that we wish we could buy every week but don't. Then after shopping we head home to where Emily (my sister) and Alexi is usually waiting to hang out. We either hang out at home or go to the local park. Then after the boys naps we go to our local Farmer's Market that is every Thursday from 3:30-6:00. The boys love the Farmer's Market!!! Aiden asks about going all week. It's so nice getting fresh veggies, eggs and bread all locally grown, all organic. It's such a great atmosphere and just getting our chatting with the locals, walking around the park and getting to know other Georgetownians (not even sure if that's a word).
So anyways Thursday are the best :)

I vow to be prepared...

For the past couple of months I have felt like that mom that never is prepared for the suprises that our kids can bring to us when we are away from home. I am the mom who forgets the baby wipes when Asher has a poopy diaper or has no first aid kit when Aiden falls and scrapes his knees. Or I'm the mom who takes her kids to the park in shorts and short sleeve shirt only to find out that it is freezing outside. Yes ladies...that' me and well I have had enough of it! So, this past weekend I made a point to put together a bag that will stay in the car at all times and has all the little things that I might need when we are out. For starters I bought a super cute new Vera Bradley duffle bag (any excuse for me to buy a new purse or bag I jump on it) and in it are diapers, a new package of baby wipes, hand sanitizer wipes, a first aid kit, extra snacks for the boys, light jackets for the boys and a spare change of clothes for each of them. I know this pretty much sounds like a diaper bag but I ditched one of those about a year ago so usually while I am running out of the house I grab anything I think I might need and throw it in my purse. Well no more of that! I am fully prepared. Now the task is to see if I can keep it filled properly :)

Since it had stormed all morning the Easter bunny decided not to hide any eggs. After a great morning at home we all 4 headed off to church to meet the rest of my family. We never take the boys to church because they are horrible but this time they were excellent! I think we might all be going as a family every week now. After church we went over to my parent's house where my grandparents, aunts and uncles and brother, sister and her family were all meeting for dinner. The Easter bunny happened to sneek over and hide the eggs while we were eating so the boys did get a chance to hunt for them :)

Asher kept trying to open the real eggs for candy :)

Then Elmo (my parents dog) kept following Asher to see if he could eat the eggs!

It was such a great day and the boys were great troopers considering they didn't get a nap. By the time we made it home it was bath time and the both boys passed out almost immediately! Hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter!

Easter Eggs!

Yesterday we dyed Easter eggs with Emily and Alexi. Alexi did not like it too much so that's why there are not any pics of her. She just wanted to throw the eggs. But the boys had a great time...especially putting the stickers on. Last year we did it with my mom and she was such a pro! I wish she would have come over this year to help because it was a little crazy. The kids had the dye everywhere! Luckily it came of the floor and table but would not come off their hands! Asher has been walking around with a hot pink hand and Aiden green hands. Funny thing is everywhere we went yesterday everyone was like "you must have been dying Easter eggs" lol!

Missing my boys

So last night was great! Cameron and I got all our Easter shopping done, went and had a wonderful early dinner and was surprised by our best friends Amy and Brian when they stopped by unexpectdly. They were passing through town and wanted to say hi. I was a little bummed the boys weren't here to see Lily and Kyle but ph well. They will be back in town in a few weeks for Asher's birthday party. After they left we watched Australia (which was great), showered then got in bed and read. Yeah we live really exciting lives LOL! This morning I got a surprise call from Asher. He stole my moms cell and sccidently called me. It was the cutest thing ever. He just said "momma, hello" over and over. Now Cam and I are off to breakfast at my favorite restaurant in town and then over to my parents to pick up the boys and bring them home! Yay! I missed them so much but it was a much needed break for all of us. My mom said that last night both boys were asking for me which makes me feel happy inside. Good to know they need me even when at times it doesn't feel that way since we are always around each other.

First Overnighter

Today is the first time the boys will be staying the night at my parent's house. We have stayed away from them before...when Ash was born and then last fall when we went to Paris...but my mom stayed at our house both times. My mom has been begging me for months to let the boys come and stay with her and my dad and I finally gave in! I really need a break from being mommy and even if it's only a few hours I will take it! They are picking them up around 2:30 this afternoon and taking them to my brother's baseball game. Then they are going home and tomorrow Cam and I will pick them up after we go to church in the morning. We really do not have anything too glamorous planned. We are going to the Rec Center here in town to look at signing the boys up for swim lessons, then heading over to Target to get them stuff for their Easter baskets and then going out for sushi! Yum! Then coming home and watching the movie Australia. Pretty low key. The whole idea was to relax and take advantage of a kid free house!

Funky Funk-UPDATED

I am in the worst funk today:(. We have been so busy this week and I think its all caught up to me and I seriously need a break! I am sitting here at the computer trying to convince myself to get up do laundry, clean the house and start my purees for the week. But no such luck. Ugh I just wish the household chores would just disappear for the day. Maybe I can muster some energy to take the boys to the park for a walk. Hope everyone else out there is having a good Friday.

UPDATE:
So we got out and went to the park which I think was what I needed...some fresh air :). The boys and I had a great time playing and I had a great walk and even jogged a little which I haven't done in months. I also decided while I was there to have Asher's birthday party at the park we have been playing at. That's one less thing I need to worry about and I have decided to go and look at the Rec center this weekend and see about joining. Oh and I talked to my mom and she and my dad are going to keep the boys tomorrow and overnight! They have never stayed overnight at anyone house without me but I think it's about time. Cam and I don't really have plans except to relax and enjoy being lazy and together. Yay! This weekend is going to be much better then I had planned!

The little things...

that makes life easier are the best! Today while I was cleaning my car (which I have to say was awful) I decided to try something new with the carseats. I have always sat the boys on each side with the middle seat empty. I just assumed that was the best way for them to sit. Well today I took out their carseats, washed the covers and cleaned the actual seat. When I went to put them back in the car I decided to put Aiden's seat in the middle and then Ash's seat behind mine...the drivers seat. This way Aiden can crawl in his seat while I put Ash in his seat and then when I get in my seat I can turn around and buckle Aiden (I don't think I have ever used the word "seat" that many times in a sentence before :)). So we had to try this new configuration out this morning because I was really excited about it and it worked like a charm! Plus the boys really liked sitting next to each other and were trying to hug. Silly boys! Now I don't have to go around to each side of the car when we go places which I know might not sound like much but when you have 2 toddlers to deal with in public parking lots, it is a big deal! Yay for me :)

Park fun!

We went to the park this morning because I thought it was going to be warm and nice...I was wrong! But the boys had fun anyways :)

These last pics make me so proud of Aiden. He use to be scared to do all these things...he has always been my cautious child. He is so big now that he was walking across the bridge and going down the slide all by himself! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!
