Decisions, Decisions!

I know I promised pics of the playroom this week but it is not quite done yet. All I need is a bulletin board and a pillow for the chair and well I just have not had time to get out and shop. Hopefully I can get that done either this evening or tomorrow. But on to more pressing issues...what to paint the living room. I really was thinking a green color because you can do so much with that but now I am not sure. We want the walls to be darker then they are now because we have low ceilings and I am pretty sure darker walls will make the ceilings feel taller...that's the case in the other roooms in our house. My goal was to start painting sometime this week but with all the paint samples the decision is just getting to be too big!
Here are some pics of our living room and dining room right now (it's just one big room pretty much). Oh and I have new curtains in the living room and my mom just gave me some new pillows for the couch that she bought and didn't want. The curtains and pillows have red, green and gold in them.

As you can see the living room blends into a hallway that I would not want to paint green but maybe a really dark khaki or beige/yellowy color. I am just worried about the colors not working well together. Hmmm...

Our busy summer continues...

So far this has been the BEST summer ever! We have been so busy and I am just really happy about the age the boys are right now. It's so easy to get and do things as a family but also easier for Cameron and I to get out and do things together. So here we go...
For anyone that doesn't know my parents own to grocery stores. So they are always getting free things from different vendors. My sister works at my dad's store and had been bugging the Budweiser salesman for some free TX Rangers tickets since Budweiser is the official beer of the Rangers. Finally she got 4 tickets and decided to take me and Cam since we are HUGE Rangers fans :)
Unfortunatly Alexi (my niece) got sick so Emily and Anthony could not go so my parents went in place. The game was Monday at 7 pm so we left Georgetown around 3pm and headed to Arlington. We got there in time to grab a bite to eat, walk around the stadium a little and watch the game! The seats were awesome!!!

We had such a blast and I can't wait until next time we go so we can take the boys. They would love it!

Speaking of boys, here they are in the gear we bought them!

A few firsts last week :)

Last week was our first week back from vacation and all I wanted to do was hang out with the boys. I have been trying to think of fun things to do that would not involve being outside in the 100+ degree weather so I decided to try out bowling and the movies. Bowling was the first activity on the list and it was so much fun! My mom went with me and the boys loved it!
On the way to the bowling alley sporting their new shades :)

In action. Aiden started off with the ramp and then after a few frames decided to try it on his own. I know we had bumpers but these kids were really good.

Our fantabulous score..hehe!

Then on Saturday Cameron and I took the boys to their first movie at a theatre! We were really excited. I had talked up the movie all week with the boys so they were thrilled! Oh I forgot to mention that we went to see Ice Age 2 or 3...can't remember lol!

We had so much fun and the boys were great! However I think we will start going to the local dollar movie because holy moly movies are expensive!

Oh and I wanted to add that I am almost done with the playroom! I am so excited about this room I think it might be my favorite in the house. Hopefully I can add the few finishing touches today or tomorrow and post pics as soon as it's done!

Our first vacation with no kids!

Cameron and I spent all of last week at a resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He qualified for the trip from one of the insurance companies that he writes business with. So here is the story of our first vacation with no kiddos...

We left our house Monday morning at around 7:00 a.m. Our plane was scheduled to leave at 9:30 a.m. so that gave us plenty of time! It was hard leaving the boys but both of us were so excited it helped from getting too emotional. Plus the boys were happy to be staying with my mom. So off we were to our traveling day from hell...
We arrived at the airport to find that our flight to Houston was delayed until 11:30 am which meant we were going to be missing our flight to Milwaukee. Talk about frustrating. So we fly to Houston only to sit there and wait 3 hours for another flight to Milwaukee which put us there 7:00 pm when we were suppose to originally be there at 3:00 pm. Plus there was a reception dinner that started at 6:30 pm that we were suppose to be at. It was awful! But to our surprise the owner of the company had an Excursion Limo waiting for us to take us to the resort which was an hour drive. We were with 3 other couples which also left Austin and we asked the limo driver to stop at the first liquor store he could find! LOL! Needless to say the drive there was great :)

The resort was amazing! It was an old Playboy resort and was absolutely gorgeous! And everyone there was so nice.

Here was the view from our room

They had a beautiful restaurant out by the pool that we ate at almost everyday because this was our view...gorgeous!

The weather was also perfect :) I don't think it ever got above 80 degrees.

Our room was super nice but here was our favorite part of it...

There was a TV in the bathroom mirror! It was seriously the coolest thing ever!!!!

Tuesday night we decided to take a cab in town with another couple on the trip and walk around and eat at one of the local restaurants. Lake Geneva is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever been to!

On Wednesday we decided to hit up this place where you could rock climb, zip line and try out a ropes course. It was really cool that morning and cloudy but we decided to go out anyway. Another couple went with us and we all had a blast!
Here we are...Timil, Kelly, Cam and me

I was the ONLY one that made it all the way to the top of the rock wall.

Needless to say Cam was a little embarrassed that his little wife kicked his butt! LOL! He could only make it about halfway up!

And...I might add...I was the first one to walk across the wooden beam. After I did Cam said there was no way he wasn't going to try it! So he did and made it perfectly.

Zip lining (not sure if thats a word) was so much fun! It's amazing how fast it feels like you are going.

Here is Cam on the ropes course. All the pictures of me are from behind and not very flattering :)

Waiting to zip

Later that afternoon we joined the group and went of a dinner cruise on Lake Geneva. The houses on the lake were amazing!

Here is one of the Wrigley's (the gum owners) houses

And here is the owner of Morton Salt's house

By Thursday I was ready to come home. I missed my boys so bad and Aiden was kind of having a hard time with me being gone. I told Cam we had to do something to keep us busy all day so we rented a car and headed off to Chicago! It was only about a hour and half drive and it was so nice!
This was our first stop.

We ate lunch...Chicago hot dogs... right across the street at a place called The Cubby Bear.

Then we took a train and headed into downtown. Chicago is such a beautiful city! I have been to NYC and I have to say Chicago puts it to shame.

These pictures are from the top of the Sears Tower (well not really the top but as high as they let you go).

Here are my feet on the Sky Deck. I was a little nervous to actually walk all the way in it :)

Cam was totally freaked out by being in it. He almost had a heartattack when I touched his back to get this picture.

Us at Union Station.

All I could think of the whole time I was there was about "My Best Friend's Wedding."

Chicago was my favorite part of the trip! I cannot wait to take the boys back one day.

Our last day on vacation we spent laying around and being lazy. We had an awards banquet to go to that evening and I was so ready to go home and see my little men. The vacation was great and spending time with my hubby was super great! It's like we got to be the people we were before we had kids and that was kind of neat. It reminded us why we fell in love with each other. I think every couple needs to get away from the everyday stresses of life and relax and just enjoy each other.

*Just wanted to add that I am sorry about the blur in the middle of most of the pictures. I discovered that my lens on my camera is cracked. Big bummer :(
